Women Run PDX
If you’re looking for motivation to get outside to run in the cold, grey days of the Pacific Northwest winter, the Women Run PDX training group is here to help you make it happen! Whether you’re a newer runner looking for some guidance or a more experienced runner looking for extra support, structure, and community, this program is designed for you.

Women Run PDX — Your Training Team for the Couve Clover Run, the Shamrock Run, or just for the sake of running!
Led by RRCA-certified running coaches Heini Tallent and Nikki Mueller, Women Run PDX is an 8-week women's training program focused on keeping you going this winter and into the spring. You'll get a detailed training plan, expert coaching, and the encouragement of an amazing community of women runners — all working toward the same goal.

What's included in the program?
-
Training plan: You’ll get a training plan, which will give you a range of options to follow. There will be some distance running on Saturdays for those trying to increase or maintain some mileage through the winter, and some track and light speedwork during the week to keep things both challenging and fun. The plan will have some flexibility built into it so you can find just the right fit for your schedule and goals.
-
Two weekly group sessions (a la carte or a combo): We meet as a group twice every week, and you can sign up for either one session a week or for both!
-
WhatsApp group chat: Share your training week, stay connected with your teammates, and chat about all things running in our WhatsApp group. This is what community is all about!
-
Expert coaching and training guidance: Your coaches will be by your side throughout the program. You'll learn about topics like self-care and stretching, strength training and cross-training, running form, hydration, nutrition, recovery, pacing, and more.
-
Most importantly, a running community and new friendships with unlimited possibilities!
When does training start?
We will kick off our program on Saturday, January 31st 2026. If you're joining us for Tuesday track only, your first session will be on Tuesday, February 3rd.
When and where do we meet?
We will have two weekly meetings for our training group. You can opt for both or one. Any changes due to weather or other circumstances will be communicated in the WhatsApp group.

-
Tuesday mornings 6—6:45AM at Ida B Wells High School track for a structured workout.
-
Saturday mornings at 8:00AM in various locations around Portland for a 60-90 minute easy-paced run. These locations will likely be: the Fanno Creek Trail, the Trolley Trail, Leif Erikson Drive, the Waterfront, and the Powerline Trail.
How much does this program cost?
We have two options for you to choose from, depending on what works best for your schedule. Each option includes expert coaching and an 8-week structured training plan, not to mention community and the potential of finding some new BRFs — Best Running Friends!

-
Option #1: $150 for two weekly group runs (Track Tuesdays AND Long Run Saturdays)
-
Option #2: $100 for one weekly group run (either Track Tuesdays OR Long Run Saturdays)
Is this program the right fit for me?
We know that no running group can be everything to everyone, and we're committed to building a community that feels welcoming, motivating, and a great fit for those who join us.
Here's what we expect of our runners upon signing up:
-
This is a women’s training group (sorry boys!). We welcome all women and gender identities who feel that a women's group is the right fit for them.
-
When training begins, you need to be capable of running comfortably for at least an hour — on Saturdays, we’ll run for 60-90 minutes.
-
We offer pace groups on our Saturday runs for easy paces ranging within 10-12 minutes per mile.
-
You should expect to meet with us as a group on Tuesday mornings at 6AM and Saturday mornings at 8AM (see locations above).
-
Lastly, and most importantly, we want team members who are ready to have fun and meet up in a non-competitive and supportive environment!

This is just what I need! How do I sign up?
